james (Jim) moeller - Financial advisor
Jim grew up in Ridgewood, New Jersey, a suburb of New York City, and graduated from The United States Military Academy (West Point) with a Bachelor of Science degree. Additionally, Jim earned a Master of Science in Business Administration from Boston University, concentrating in Finance.
After five years in the U S Army, which included one year of teaching macroeconomics at Central Texas College, Jim began his business career at Exxon in Georgia and was transferred to Houston after having been named Area Manager of the year for the Southeast Region. While in Houston, Jim finally realized his dream of working in financial services, having had that goal since graduate school.
Jim’s transfer to Fort Worth as a branch manager, and subsequently starting and managing his own planning firm, Moeller Financial Group, began a journey of increasingly responsible industry executive positions taking him to Albuquerque, Dallas and Houston. Prior to joining Outlook Financial Group, Jim was head of the branch system at Sanders Morris Harris for four years. Jim also served as President of the Fort Worth Chapter of the International Association of Financial Planners, and held leadership positions in several industry and financial planning organizations. Besides building a successful career, he also was active in the community, serving five years on the Board of Directors, including three years as Chairman of the Board, of Trolley for Toys, Inc., a charitable 501c(3) corporation which raised money and toys for children’s organizations in the Dallas area. Currently, Jim is Chairman of the USO Woodlands Classic Golf Tournament, and sits on the Board of Advisors, USO Houston.
